Conveter HTML To XML

A proper standardization of patent information is needed for applicants, Patent Offices and users of patent information to utilize all the patent information smoothly and effectively. To attain this goal, the Japan Paten Office has been promoting an international standardization of XML format through the WIPO forums in cooperation with United States Patent and Trademark Office and European Patent Office, while it conformed the domestic applications to the international standard stated previously since 2003.

However, the international standard stated previously is not sufficiently prevailed in the world. For further promotion, Japan Patent Office has decided to modify the XML conversion tool used for domestic applications to work within in an English language environment, and to provide it for free with the help from the National Center for Industrial Property Information and Training (INPIT).

Also, this support tool is compliance with the Common Application Format, which was agreed on in the Trilateral Commissioners Meeting of 2007 and was adopted for the international applications based on the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) since January of 2009. Thus, applicants are possible to file PCT international application online (at least to the International Bureau of WIPO) by using this tool in combination with the PCT-SAFE (software for PCT applications supplied by the International Bureau of WIPO). This tool also enables users to make PDF files in combination with the PCT-SAFE.

Applicants who file electronically with PCT-SAFE in XML format will receive 300 Swiss Franc (CHF) reductions in fees, while those who file electronically with the PCT-SAFE in image format, e.g. PDF, TIFF, will receive 200 CHF reductions. Please be advised to utilize this useful support tool to enhance an availability of worldwide patent information.
