The Monolith is the first and only skateboard with motors in the wheels. From its streamlined look to its feel under foot, every detail of the Monolith is based on the idea of uninhibited flow. From the outside, the Monolith is nearly indistinguishable from a traditional skateboard. You don’t see the motors or batteries because everything is inside the deck and wheels. - Power Shift Swappable Batteries: No one should have to plan their day around electrical outlets and charging times. That’s why the Inboard Monolith is the world’s first electric skateboard with swappable battery packs. A depleted battery can be swapped in seconds with a fresh backup in one of three sizes. From pocket sized to full sized, Monolith owners can choose the battery that matches their daily needs. The depleted battery can be recharged inside the monolith or on its own with a separate charging cable. A full charge can be achieved in about 90 minutes.
- USB Connect: The Monolith comes equipped with an auxiliary USB power port: the USB Connect. This enables daisy chain charging: allowing you to charge the RFLX Remote and the Monolith Battery through a single wall outlet. The USB Connect also allows for the charging of any USB device; from powering a bluetooth speaker to charging a mobile device or even building your own accessory. With USB Connect you’re always ON.
- Rev Wheels: From the deck to the wheels, every detail of the Monolith is designed to be easy and intuitive. The Monolith’s Rev Wheel can be changed in ten seconds without any tools. This way you’re always ready to ride.
- Unibody Deck: In designing the Monolith we had a monumental challenge: create a powered skateboard that still looks and feels like a traditional skateboard. To achieve this goal, Inboard engineers had to work from the inside out. Creating a hollow deck with a cavity to hold all the electronics accomplished the goal of creating a powerful product while maintaining a sleek exterior. The outcome was the inspiration for the name Monolith: a sleek and refined artifact dedicated to performance in every way.

Our goal in designing the Monolith was to stay true to all the familiar aspects of a traditional skateboard while avoiding the design flaws of current powered boards: like excess weight, bulky external motors and drag while kick-pushing the board. Our answer is Manta Drive: a direct drive, in-wheel motor system like nothing currently available.
The Manta Drive® has no gearing, no belts, and no limitations. It offers smooth acceleration with no resistance to the wheel, allowing the Monolith to glide like a traditional skateboard. This is achieved thanks to its floating motor assembly; the only components linking the wheel to the motor are free spinning bearings. This revolutionary feat of engineering is at the heart of the Monolith, and when ridden creates a feeling unlike any other.
The perfect remote should feel like a seamless extension of the rider. The RFLX Remote was designed with this in mind to let the rider focus on the most important thing: their riding. Accidently dropping the remote should never be a concern, and with the RFLX Remote you can open and close your hand at will, without the remote ever moving from its natural position in your hand. All this without the need for a lanyard.
